5K MEMORIAL RUN FOR JERRY, SEPT 22

It's been 17 months since Jerry lost his relentless battle to a blood cancer that some
believe can be traced to his work on 9-11. Throughout his struggle, you opened your
heart to him and his young family in so many ways. Those of us who knew Jerry-- or
simply knew of him--appreciate that his spirit and legacy live on in his good works
and examples. 

Recently, another opportunity has arisen to honor Jerry's memory. Fund-
raising has begun for The Jerry Senatore Memorial Scholarship at Hofstra
University, Jerry's alma mater. This effort is being organized by members of Jerry's
fraternity. Our family was recently approached because Hofstra wants to be sure that --given
the short deadline for this event--there will indeed be sufficient support for a 5K
run, planned for Sunday, September 22, 2012, at Hofstra.

On Wednesday, June 27, Jerry's Hofstra friends will be approaching the Board
with evidence that such support exists. Here is where we need to channel Jerry's
can-do spirit and the love and support you demonstrated for him through the
Facebook site, Join Jerry 2010, which received more than 8,000 hits per day from
people around the world.

--Running or walking in the 5K event.

--Helping with the administration of the event during the day, or before, or after.

--Providing financial support. This one is particularly important to Hofstra, of
course.

During the last few months of his life, Jerry Senatore was dubbed "Mr. Relentless"
in honor of the way he approached his life, crime fighting, and cancer. We are now
called upon to be relentless too and come together to see what support we can
gather by Wednesday, June 27th.
